Last Friday, Tokyo Fashion Award selected 6 Winners, among which the brand Soe, which deserves a thorough introduction.
Soe was started in 2001, and has since developed as a contemporary urban brand. Since 2017, the label has expanded into womenswear, offering a comprehensive lifestyle, which can be shopped in Tokyo at the MIU-Store, launched in 2013.
Soe collections have evolved with street style in Tokyo, and the SS18 collection featured references to a restless young generation, determined to embody both a conservative academic style and a more progressive vibe. The result is a brand that is currently representing the paradox of Japanese and Asian street fashion. It is all at once original and inspiring but also academic and approachable.
The brand was founded and is directed by Soichiro Ito. He was joined in 2015 by the designer Yuki Takagi. The progressive evolution and day-to-day relevance of the label has impressed the jury.
Tokyo Fashion Award is a fashion prize that selects 6 brands from Tokyo with the aim to connect them to the international market and support their global expansion. The 6 selected designers are then offered a booth to showcase their collection at “showroom.tokyo”, during Paris Fashion Week.
